Side Story 1, Chapter 1: A Mechanic's Good Morning

[This happens in the same time Chapter 13 happened, just telling ya! This is also Katasu's perspective!]
This morning, I walked out of Satora's car, and I was waiting at the taxi station when Zach came. I got in the taxi, and Zach drived me to his house. I greeted him normally.

Both of us entered the house. I asked Zach "What are we doing today?" Zach replied "I'm gonna test some machinery. Actually, I'm a proclaimed scientist and engineer, but I want to keep it a secret from society. Don't tell anyone about this, not even Kinato, okay? I trust you, Katasu!"

That's so cool! I never thought he was this smart to be both a scientist and engineer! I wonder what he made, so I said: "Woah, cool nya! Never knew that! I thought you were just trying to experiment some boring stuff! Where have you graduated from?" "I only graduated from Naiko Middle School, then dropped out to learn the rest by myself.. The studies here are really cool, but I prefer living here." He replied, held my wrist, then ran upstairs. "Nyaaaaa!! Don't pull me up there out of a sudden!" I said. Zach is a fast runner, but I kinda run faster, actually. "Katasu, this is a VR telescope, so you can see things from far away, and simulate outer space in real time. Try it, and let me see what you think about it."  Zach said. Katasu weared the VR glasses and sees the world from outside. "Woahhh! It's so great! I can even see the stars like it's right next to me!" I looked around in suprise. It was so high-quality that Katasu thought that they were actually in outer space! He then took the VR glasses off them. That's sad, because Katasu wanted to experience it a little bit more. "You really like it, right?" Zach said. 

I nodded my head. Zach then showed me a pair of gloves. "It's some kind of gloves that can make you experience other powers without destroying anything. Unfortunately, it doesn't really work, but you can try it." Zach explained to me, then I used the gloves. I really wanted to have electric powers, like Kano, so I switched it to electric powers.

I tried to cast an electric beam, and it actually made an electric beam! I got to experience having Kano's power by myself! "Your items are really cool! Do you have more?" I took off the gloves.

"Yes, I do have more in my basement! Do you have anything to ask, Katasu?" Zach said. "So, how old are you?" I asked. "Well, that's a common question people ask me... I'm 16." Zach answered my question. I said "Oh, you're younger than I expected! I'm 15, do you have anything more to show me?" Zach's really smart and he could be helpful sometimes, after all! Zach picked up some kind of magical orb, and rubbed it. It lit up, and floated around him. I wonder what that is, and that also looks like magic. "Woah! That's amazing, what's it called?" I said, while staring at the orb. Zach replied "This is called an orbin. I didn't make these myself, but some of it can be around nature. When I was taking a break from driving a taxi, I found a cave, and I saw an orbin there. I picked it up, and it suddenly lit up. If it lights up and floats around you, it will give you some powers! Let me show you how it works, then..." Zach picked up a piece of glass, and it got flinged to a training dummy. That's magical! I didn't know the orbins thing could be this powerful! He then explained to me: "This is a regular power, known as glass manipulation. Orbins are really rare, so you can't really find them. Not all magical orbs are orbins, though." Zach then rubbed his orbin and stuffed it into his backpack. Zach is giving me a book to read. I held the book, but hasn't read the book yet. The book's title is "Engineering Guide".

Suddenly, something exploded from outside. It was in an arcade shop that I saw my squad get into. I shouted "Hey, what the hell's going on here nya?" "Katasu! You heard the explosion?" Kano said. He seems worried because he thinks I'm geting down there. "Nya-nya! What exactly is happening here?" I said, then I got pulled by Zach, which is trying to make me calm down. "Katasu, calm down. There's a lot of powerful people there, so they can protect themselves." Zach said. He's right, I'm a weak person. Kano shouted from outside "An enemy bursted from the machines!"

I didn't want to answer Kano, at all. I decided to continue reading the book. "Zach, why did you give me the book?" I was curious and confused why he gave them the book for no reason. "It's an engineering manual. By that way, you can help me build something."

When I read the book, it was something I never knew about before. It was a new knowledge that teenage peopele like Zach was never expected to learn!

[Notice] Discontinutation of Monochrome Blankness ('s current storyline)

I'm really sorry, everyone, if there is even anyone who reads my stuff. I wish to discontinue this novel project of mine due to a lot of reasons. Some of those reasons include me wishing to pursue further knowledge on game development, and to improve on my writing. I felt like the pacing of the chapters was way too fast, and the storywriting's quality is poor, which resulted in me being in an art block.  I also want to spend my time doing what I love, and maybe I'll come back to love writing again. It's up to your own interpretation on how the story ends, and I'll continue writing Side Stories or Extra Chapters here and then. Well, just so you know, Ambroise and Kazai are alive and well! From now on, I will be adding date and time to the chapters I write. It's gonna be a different story, yet I'll continue it in the universe that I built with love and care.
