Chapter 25: The Crystal
Nami has unlocked the door of the mysterious place by disabling the lock system, and it slowly opened.
"What are the crystals for?" Raki was curious.
"You mean the Polychromatic Crystal? It's also called... A Chromatia. It is a crystal for the spirit guardians of each city. It can't be split into pieces, and each spirit guardian has a Polychromatic Crystal with them as long as there's one at their statue. It's unusual how the crystals could suddenly be stolen from the statue. It grants the spirit guardians a really powerful power enough to stop a meteorite falling to earth. A Polychromatic Crystal will slowly change color, and if it isn't on the statue, it will become the aura color of their city." Nami explained.
"Then, how do we get the crystals back?"
"We have to find them and return them to the statue. If we do, it would be long until anyone removes it. In this case, Natoruyo's crystal will be red."
"That's pretty cool."
Everyone stumbled upon Natoruyo's Polychromatic Crystal, which is glowing red. "That was easier than I thought!" Katasu spoke, until suddenly the security alarm went off.
No one was coming, but Katasu knew this was going to happen. The glass display that contains the Chromatia slowly rises up to the air, slowly forming a spiral stair right after. Suddenly a heavy-armored person appeared in front of everyone.
Katasu immediately attacked with a spear. "Ya thought I ain't trained with a police about spears and armors, nya?"
It damaged the armor somehow heavily. Satora trained Katasu in 5 months. It was a spear Satora gave them, which has a piercing effect that can pierce most armors. The tip of it is enhanced by light. The spear floats and spins around the heavy-armored person, and the person tries to catch the spear and crack it, but it returned to Katasu's hand, then Katasu jumps away.
The armored person tried to attack everyone with a big sword, and it made a strong wind that blew everyone away to the already-closed door.
"Tha-that hurts, my back almost broke!" Nami said quietly.
"Dokan!" Kinato just spoke for the first time ever, and it was a shout. There was a sudden explosion in the place, making it almost collapse. The explosion killed the armored person, and everyone ran up to the stairs to bring back the crystal. Natoruyo broke the glass, but right before they could catch the crystal, it was grabbed. There was someone flying away, and shouting "Later, nerds!"
Satora immediately shot her musket at the flying person, and it hit the person. They fell down to the ground. "Easier than I thought."
Everyone walked down to the floor and grabbed the crystal. It was glowing red, so everyone assumed it belonged to Natoruyo.
The squad drived to the Statue of Natoruyo, and Kazai slowly tried to put the crystal in place again, until someone punched Kazai so hard that she bleeded. The mysterious person threw a flashbang at everyone, then used magic to make everyone unconscious.
[later at night]
"Where am I?" Kazai looked around.
She was in her own car, and Nami's car was outside.
"The crystal is gone... Ow, my cheek hurts." She put her hand to her cheek that was bandaged.
"I guess everyone is at the mobile hallways, but I'm so tired to walk there..."
She wandered around the mobile hallways, then found out that the door was mysteriously locked. "Hmmm, I don't remember someone locking it." Kazai slowly walked back to the car, and no lights were on. She has forgotten that most restaurants close at night.
"Where is everyone?"
She walked outside the car. It was a quiet night, and it's a normal thing in Natoruyo.
Kazai tried texting the group chat. (the text message names will be in their usernames from now on)
[azaiK: hey, where are you guys?]
[keroseneKatasu: I don't know! I'm trapped in this strange room with a box!]
[azaiK: Who is this? oh, katasu, right]
[keroseneKatasu: I changed my username!]
[antiquefactory: i'm in some alleyway, holding a lighter]
[azaiK: did you just wake up in the alley, zach]
[antiquefactory: yeah]
[keroseneKatasu: Also, that morning Kinato also spoke for the first time! I think she can only speak onomatopoeia...]
Kazai put down her phone. The first place she would want to find someone was the alleyways.
She walked there, holding a flashlight.
