[Chapter 30: Affected Powerless]


Everyone is sleeping, except Nora and Rona. They've been affected by curses of some sort, which prevents them from sleeping. Sai was the first to notice it.


"Curse… that prevents people from sleeping?" Sai stole Kinato's notebook about curses at midnight. It seemed like a coincidence that Nora and Rona were cursed at the exact time... 


Sai inspected Kinato's notebook, and there was a mark on it. It was Kinato's blood. He then immediately ran to Kinato's room and opened the door. The room was not really bloody, but he inspected under her blanket again. Kinato's right hand was cut off. Sai quickly bandaged her right hand, and thought for a second.


"No, wait. What is going on?"


Sai ran to the secret prison and found Yushiro, still here. But he's fatally injured.


Yushiro gave Kinato's severed hand to Sai, and said that "Someone else cutted it off and it dropped inside my cell…"


At that time, Haku wasn't awake. Sai needed to use Kinato's formula to heal her. But, where are all the ingredients?


"Gypsophila… Gypsophila… Where is it…" Sai got out of the mobile hallways and used a flashlight. Luckily, he found a bush of the flowers he was looking for. "And most importantly, some leaves."


He then ran to Kinato, trying to make a potion in her room. "I need to mix the flowers with some herbs, and protein pills."


He stirred the cauldron really nicely. Sai needed to protect Kinato since she was one of his, and Luka's favorite classmates. Sai and Kinato studied together and at one point they became the top of the class together.


Sai took off Kinato's bandage, put her hand and wrist together while trying to put them back again, and poured the potion on the wounds. It healed her hand completely. The only thing left of the wound is a scar. "Wow, I never knew this worked too." 


Sai still has to fix Nora and Rona's insomnia curse. He tries to contact Nora and Rona, but the door is locked. Sai kicks the door open with some hesitation and decides to ask them. "Nora. Rona. Are you both okay?"


Nora and Rona could not respond. Sai tried wiping the mark off the book, but nothing happened, except that he felt like someone was holding him for 10 seconds. He looked back, and no one was there.


Sai tries to use his sign language, but… He doesn't know sign language. Sai decides to inspect Nora's items, and then Rona's. Eventually, Sai finds something interesting… a coin with some marks on it. 


[VENDING MACHINE]


He goes outside, and runs to the arcade. The coin was a circle, and ran to the vending machine. He inserts in the coin, and it drops "a can of a particular lemon-flavored carbonated water thingy". He then ran to the car, then wondered what the coin was trying to tell him. There was no strange text on the can, so he went to the mobile hallways and made Nora and Rona drink the sodas. They both choked and 2 pieces of an unknown object (it looked like a nut and screw) came out of their mouth. They fell asleep.


"Thank god I didn't get hurt by these… What are these for anyways?" Sai put the pieces in the box. Everyone is sleeping, and Sai decides to wander out of the place.


He eventually reaches a broken mech. It's missing a screw, and a nut. Sai tries to fix the mech, and turns it on.


It appears to be a small robot, the size of an 11 year old. It has a blue leaf hairpin, for some reason.


The robot scans Sai's face, a blue line can be seen going up and down at his face, like scanning a paper in a printer.


[YOU ARE NOT A RESEARCHER. WHO ARE YOU?]


"S-Sai Naikono."


[SAI NAIKONO. MS. SEPHINE IS LOOKING FOR YOU.]


"You mean that magic teacher? Yeah, sometimes she goes nuts whenever I do crazy stuff!"


[I AGREE. NOW SCRAM, AND ENTER THE MANSION.] The ResearcherBot walked away. 


Sai encounters a wood-infested gate in front of him. He pulls out his magic wand given by Haku as a birthday gift.


"Concentrate… Concentrate…"


The wood suddenly burned with cursed flames. The fire immediately made the wood disappear, and the only thing left is an opened gate.


It's a haunted mansion. "Why is the ResearcherBot telling me to enter the mansion… for no reason? Is it trying to kill me or something?" 


Sai shivers in fear, and he runs back to the car, trying to find Luka. Luka is sleeping in the bed. "Does everyone here have a magic wand?" He wonders. "Of course no one except Kinato has a magic wand… But what about the new members?"


He secretly enters Nora and Rona's room, and finds that they have a legendary type of wand. "No way… This is the wand we were looking for..."


Sai was speechless. "This wand has existed for centuries, but no one has used it due to how dangerous it is." He took the wand, and kept it with him. Almost everyone is unaware that this wand exists, only Sai knows. Even the master of magic, Sephine Pancakes, and the shopkeeper of the most popular magic shop in the town, Katasu Saino, knows that it's not destroyed yet, and they are one of the only people that acknowledges the existence of it. Nora and Rona are only teenagers, why are they even trusted to keep the wand?


Rona is 16, while Nora is 13. The wand is clearly dangerous, shouldn't it be kept with a sorceress?


But, no matter what happens, Sai will keep this a secret. No matter what...

[Notice] Discontinutation of Monochrome Blankness ('s current storyline)

I'm really sorry, everyone, if there is even anyone who reads my stuff. I wish to discontinue this novel project of mine due to a lot of reasons. Some of those reasons include me wishing to pursue further knowledge on game development, and to improve on my writing. I felt like the pacing of the chapters was way too fast, and the storywriting's quality is poor, which resulted in me being in an art block.  I also want to spend my time doing what I love, and maybe I'll come back to love writing again. It's up to your own interpretation on how the story ends, and I'll continue writing Side Stories or Extra Chapters here and then. Well, just so you know, Ambroise and Kazai are alive and well! From now on, I will be adding date and time to the chapters I write. It's gonna be a different story, yet I'll continue it in the universe that I built with love and care.

Chapter 1: The Beginning

[10:34 PM July 8, 2026, Kazai's house] While everyone was sleeping, Satora was looking outside the window at Kazai's house while sipping some tea. There was suddenly a thunderstorm, and the thunder was abnormally too strong. She thought beforehand that it was a disaster. "Gah! W-wait, there's... Is this a disaster?"
