Side Story 2, Chapter 12: Wintery Night

[Side Story 2, Chapter 12: Wintery Night]

The food truck was eventually a shelter for the entire squad. Here's a memo for who's in this squad (and not the squad in the main story):

Kasuri Mano, a purple-haired girl who hates death, alongside her yellow-haired lookalike, Naiko.

Meriku Kitsuri, presumably Kasuri's girlfriend, just because Kasuri found her and picked her up.

Sephine Pancakes, a famous sorceress of Naiko, who escaped from Reqrania.

Ariel, the coolest person in all existence. (If the owner of this character is reading this, sorry, but I am not killing Ariel. The world will lose its coolness. Ariel is the spirit guardian of coolness.)

Luca, the owner of the food truck.

Derie, a scaredy foreigner who controls the wind.

Inazuma, a child raised by someone her age from the Rosewood family.

Chris Azalea, dead as fuck. Might come back someday and haunt Kasuri.

Yuguwa Tsugo, useless as fuck. He does nothing. Dumb dumb. More dumb than Ariel, but supports Kashor- No, I mean Kasuri.

Kang Hyeon-jae is a Korean child. No one knows where she came from, but she suddenly appeared out of nowhere. What the fuck.

That's all of the members I can remember (hopefully because I took like several months of hiatus from writing, again and again and again) so let's just continue the story. Aaaaghhhhhhhhhh.

The entire squad started taking down a bunch of attackers, and everyone didn’t feel a bit of guilt, except Kasuri.

Kasuri doesn’t want to wish death upon anyone, so this was against her will, but if she kills them, they cannot kill more people.

Kasuri accepted the fact Inazuma gave to her, and used all her magic to defeat the attackers. Eventually, all of the attackers left are quite troublesome ones.

The attackers left are ones that cannot be killed easily. Some of them are wounded by combat, though…

“Wait, it’s true! They have a soul-absorbing machine attached to their weapons.” Kasuri was surprised.

“Kasuri, try looking closely at their clothes.” A mysterious voice was behind Kasuri.

“Wha- Raiyumi? Since when were you here?”

“I had to seek shelter too. Kasuri, are those badges on their clothes familiar?”

“Those are badges of Reqrainian soldiers…”

“Those cowards finally decided to attack us. Wait until they get struck by an orbital laser…”

“What does Mokkato have against Reqrania?”

“Reqrania has a bad ruler, so Mokkato plans to take down the leader of Reqrania. Sephine is a sorceress from Reqrania who managed to escape the Naiko-forsaken country. Well, let me tell you something… Reqrania excels in sorcery, Lothonia excels in mechanics, and we excel in both. We’re the strongest region, so Reqrania plans to take us down from the throne so it can plan world domination.”

“They’re gonna kill themselves from it! The spirit guardians are powerful!”

“Right…” Raiyumi snapped, and a bunch of attackers got scorched and burnt into ashes.

“Aaaa…” Kasuri felt disgusted. “Even if they’re attackers, I don’t wanna see them die…”

“You’ll see people die around you. Remember what your friend said… If you kill them, they can’t kill more people.” Raiyumi snapped her fingers again, and a wind blade sliced through a bunch of marching attackers.

Lightning struck them, the trees poisoned them, some of them were brung down by gravity, some of them felt a headache, most of them blown away by sound basses, and many of them were teleported high up into the sky so they fall to their deaths, as Raiyumi covers Kasuri’s eyes. “Just because people die frequently, doesn’t mean you’re forced to see gruesome images of death.”

“Thanks…”

“You’re welcome.” Raiyumi smiled. “You look very sleepy, what were you dreaming about?”

“I dreamt about fireworks, beautiful stars in the sky, and I was sitting on a mountain with my mom... I really wished it was real.”

“Someday you’ll get to see it in real life. After this crisis ends, maybe you and your mom can reunite once again.”

“Someday… Please, at least make it true.” Kasuri started tearing up.

“I’ll bring you somewhere, and light up some fireworks. You’ll have time alone with your mother. Is that a deal?”

Kasuri nodded her head.

“Alright.” Raiyumi smiled. “You don’t have to cheer up. Sleep in this car for now.” She gave Kasuri earplugs and sleeping blindfolds. “Good night.”

Kasuri used the earplugs and the blindfold, and then slept inside the food truck. She’s at peace, and undisturbed. Luca decided to be kind, and gave Kasuri a blanket.

The squad fought the attackers, and were victorious at it, except for Kang Hyeon-jae, who was sitting near Kasuri.

“Is she okay?” Kang put her hand on Kasuri’s forehead. It was the normal body temperature. “Yeah! She’s okay…”

Kang doesn’t know anybody on the food truck, but she surprisingly shows a lot of care for the sleeping purple-haired girl. She made some hot chocolate, and put it in a cup for Kasuri to drink when she wakes up. Don’t worry, it won’t get cold, since the cup stores heat.

The blue-haired girl looked outside the window, and was amazed. “I wish I had those cool powers too…” Kang said in a jealous tone. “I don’t know any thingamajigs in here… I’m bad at magic stuff and tech stuff," Kang searched the shelves, and there were unsurprisingly tteokbokki ingredients in the cupboards. (Tteokbokki was one of the dishes Luca served.) "But at least I’m good at cooking tteokbokki!”

“TTEOKBOKKI!!!” Kasuri woke up.

“You know about it!? I thought the Japanese knew nothing about Korea!”

Kasuri took off her earplugs. It seems like the word “tteokbokki” made her rise up out of sleepiness. “Well, I like Korea! Not the north one, though, it’s just some barren land.”

“Okay… I’ve never heard of this northern Korea thing, but I think it’s baaad…” Kang was curious, but she had to show Kasuri how she cooks tteokbokki. “I’ll cook a really tasty tteokbokki for you! There's hot choco next to you!”

“Where?” Kasuri gets her hands and arms around, knocks over the hot chocolate cup, and spills it. She took off her blindfold. "Wait, I'm sorry!!!"

"You made a mess!!!" Kang was angry, but she volunteered to clean the floor, and give Kasuri another hot chocolate. Pleased, she continues making tteokbokki. Kasuri drinks the hot chocolate, and she feels happier, and less cold. It's like Kasuri forgot what the situation is, and that's what Kang was trying to do; make Kasuri happy.

After Kang made the tteokbokki using the tools in the food truck, Kasuri and Kang had a happy time eating the snack together, until some gunshots were fired at the door. Attackers were peeking inside the door, but their eyes were met by the holes of a pistol. They were shot by Kasuri, blinding their eyes, but Kasuri feels bad.

“Kasuri… No need to help them.” Kang patted Kasuri’s shoulder.

“Why?”

“They are bad people. Bad people deserve to die!”

“I don’t think the same as you.” Kasuri sighs, peeks outside the door, and continues eating tteokbokki. Someone opened the door, and it was Meriku.

“Hello… Kang, and Kasuri… I am Meriku…” Meriku was an introvert, but she managed to speak exactly 7 words.

“Hello, Meriku! Let’s eat tteokbokki!” Kang greeted happily, while also trying to calm Kasuri down.

They all had a happy time drinking the hot chocolate, tteokbokki, and other things Kang managed to cook. The cooking was very nice, and is very warm for a cold night.

After the meal, they all slept inside the food truck.
