Side Story 2, Chapter 13: Wintery Day

[Side Story 2, Chapter 13: Wintery Day]

Kasuri woke up, and stretched herself. She pointed out that the people were gone. Out of panic, she looked outside, and the people were still there, happily eating breakfast outside.

She walked outside, and greeted the squad. "Hello!"

Raiyumi smiled, and patted Kasuri. "You woke up late today… We actually beat all of the attackers, and we're just finding the Naiko Chromatia."

"That's great!" Kasuri cheered in happiness. "That's really great, I hope we can restore Naiko, she's the most powerful!"

"I wouldn't say she's the most powerful, Aokane is more powerful, she can manipulate space!" Sephine interrupted.

"Oh yeah…" Kasuri didn't think of that.

She blinked her eyes, and suddenly, everyone in front of her…

They were dead? It's like their souls were absorbed.

Everyone is dead.

Out of terror, Kasuri started running away, and there was someone grabbing Kasuri's neck.

"Where do you think you're going?" An intimidating attacker said.

Kasuri screamed, as the attacker slammed her into the ground.

But Kasuri survived. Unscathed.

The attacker slammed Kasuri another time,
but it didn't work.

She shot Kasuri, but no wounds were there.

She tried to cut off Kasuri's head with a machete, but she's breathing just fine.

"How did you…" The attacker was confused on how Kasuri survived all that.

But Kasuri didn't respond, she instead started shooting the enemy.

The enemy blocked it.

"Isn't this fair, little girl?"

"Sure, I can probably beat yo-" Kasuri interrupted herself in the middle of her dialogue, and sent a bunch of debris flying towards the attacker.

The enemy blocked every single one of the debris, except one, which sent her flying.

Kasuri wasn't done yet, she plunged the attacker down to the floor, and used water magic to drown her.

The attacker died. None of the Reqrainians thought about this. No one knew how Kasuri survived.

Kasuri still felt guilty, as she still killed a person. She felt bad for all the other people who died, too.

She investigated the attacker, and she found an ID card, and a diary.

The attacker's name was Roza Fedorov, and the diary was in Reqrainian. She used a translator to translate the contents…

[XX/XX/XXXX]

[I was called to attack Mokkato in the Naiko region… What a piece of shit, forcing me to take out innocent people like this. I want to escape from Reqrainia to Mokkato, but I was oppressed so much… If I had a chance, I could escape Reqrainian citizenship along with thousands of other soldiers, and emigrate to Mokkato.]

[If I die, and whoever reads this, you may either dig a grave, or heal me.]

Kasuri proceeded to get the water out of the attacker, and healed her.

Roza woke up.

"You defeated me… Reqrainia didn't think a little girl like you was this powerful. I didn't actually die, I just fainted… Look up."

Kasuri looked up. There were ships belonging to the CSFU.

"Those are the CSFU ships. You see them everyday, what's so special?"

"They make me feel safe. Mokkato is all the way in Asia, while Reqrainia is all the way to Europe. Seeing a different ship like this makes me feel safe, since I'm always tracked by a Reqrainian ship." Roza took off her Reqrainian badge, and revealed a container containing all souls in Naiko. "I don't want to kill anyone, but Reqrainia's ruler told me to keep the souls in storage so no one can be revived. They want genocide against your kind, and I'm against it…"

Sounds of metal dropping on the floor were heard. Roza was taking off her armor, and all that's left was a t-shirt and jeans.

"How would you revive all the people in Naiko…?" Kasuri felt so bad for the attackers who were killed. "Nn…"

Roza noticed Kasuri's crying, and tried to comfort her, but Kasuri pushed Roza away. "I don't want this power anymore…"

The Reqrainian regretted sharing the information to a young girl, who was also sensitive. "I'm… I'm sorry, ok-"

Kasuri ran away, into an alleyway, and cried alone.

"I want to die." Kasuri whimpered to herself.

A person noticed her, and got towards her. "Do you really want to die?"

"Who are you?"

"I'm Akaya Nanomaru, a former psychologist."

"That's the last name I'm going to hear…" Kasuri continued crying.

"Are you sure you want to die?"

"Yes… But I want to write a note first…"

Kasuri wrote a note, without Akaya reading it.

"Okay, stay calm, this will hurt a bit…"

Akaya injected poison into Kasuri, and took the syringe out painlessly.

"Thank you… Goodbye, world."

Akaya sat down, put Kasuri's head on her lap, and patted her head as Kasuri died. Kasuri's body was less lively, no longer seeing the smile for who she once was.

Akaya doesn't shed a tear. She's seen people die like this a thousand times, in fact, she offers assisted suicide a lot.

As Akaya sees somebody approaching, she quickly runs away.

Roza ran here and checked Kasuri's pulse. There was no pulse. Kasuri is already dead.

There was only her corpse, and her clothes. Roza looks at the note that Kasuri wrote.

[Roza,
I knew you'd read this.
My name is Kasuri, I'm 11 years old, and my mom's dead. The reason I had someone kill me was because I didn't want to bear the weight of killing hundreds of souls who just want to run free…

I live in Apartment 101. There is a keycard in my pocket. Just tell the clerk that you're the new owner of the apartment, and he'll let you in.

I feel very guilty, and I wanted to die, so here's my final message;

Goodbye, world. Don't revive me anymore...]

She ran around to find some cryopreservation graves, stole one, and put Kasuri in one. Roza dug a grave for Kasuri, and carved a gravestone for her. She wasn't the best at carving, but at least it honored her greatly. She dug her grave somewhere unknown, so no one will know if she died or not. After Roza was done with the grave, she saluted Kasuri for 1 minute until she bursted out in tears.

"Hey."

"Hn… What?"

"Do you really care about that girl? You just met her." A girl in a tracksuit talked to her.

"She was young."

"Maybe you should've just done things for your survival, so you can't care for anyone."

"Are you a psycho? You can't live without others."

"You can."

"Well, I'm sure as hell I'm not gonna feel good living alone…"

"What's your name?"

"Roza."

"You can just call me Strife."

"Let me mourn in peace, Strife.

"Okay, you'll regret not following my ways sooner or later anyways." Strife walked away, and Roza mourned Kasuri's death.

"Kasuri, I'll fulfil one of your final wishes." Roza opened the can of souls, and the souls returned to everyone, and everyone was fine and healed, except for Kasuri.

She then restored the Chromatia to Naiko's statue.

Everyone woke up from the ground, not knowing what happened. The place was full of colorful advertisement screens again, and Naiko was restored.

People started cleaning up the bodies of the attackers, preserving them in cryopreservation pods, and storing them in labs.

Meanwhile, at the food truck…

"Where's Kasuri?" Kang asked Raiyumi."

"I don't know, but I think she was revived, just like all of us. All of us were suddenly dead…"

Naiko woke up in the food truck. "Aaaa… Finally, I get to kick ass forever for another time."

"What happened to Kasuri???" Derie asked Naiko. "Aren't you omni-something? Omni-everywhere at once?"

"I'm not omnipresent, so I don't know. I know what happened to Kasuri, though, but I don't want to reveal anything right now."

"So… Kasuri must be safe, right?" Ariel interfered.

"Maybe, I hope so!" Naiko tries to cheer up the people.

At a distance, Chris can be seen running back to the food truck. "I am back from dead!!!"

"Yoooo!!!!" Yuguwa hugged Chris.

"Those are two friends reuniting with each other. I wish it was me with Ambroise…" Inazuma felt sad that she still didn't get to meet Ambroise, like she was her girlfriend or something.

"So… Everyone is alive! That means my sister has to be alive too!" Luca was excited to meet his sister again, and he did, which made Sephine amused.

"I'm so happy everyone got back to each other…" Meriku managed to say like… 9 words without stuttering. "Where is Kasuri, though?"

"Everyone is asking exactly that…" Sephine responded.

"I'm gonna find her…" Meriku walked away.

"NO!" Naiko tried to stop Meriku, but Meriku ran away. Naiko was as fast as light, but she didn't want to bother anymore.

Raiyumi walked along with Meriku. "I'm going, too."

"YOU TOO?" Naiko was surprised.

"We're not going…" The rest of them said, except for Kang, who already went with Meriku.

So, Raiyumi, Kang, and Meriku goes to explore Kasuri's fate.
